This article is updated if we find errors in our book Sharing the Gospel with Muslims. As you can imagine, a book with more than 1300 references will contain some errors, we hope that they are very few. We apologise for any errors and confusion.
Sura 8:67 reads "Allah said, 'A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.'" This is incorrect. Ibn Ishaq in his work Life of Muhammad made this statement on page 326-327. Sura 8:67 reads, "It is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land. Ye desire the lure of this world and Allah desireth (for you) the Hereafter, and Allah is Mighty, Wise."
