Ibrahim Ministries International Inc (IMI) provides these frequently asked questions (faqs) as service. Although we repeatedly check our references and authorities, errors are occasionally made. If you notice any errors, please contact us so we can correct them.
We recognise that Islam is not a monolithic faith, that there are significant variations of belief and practice within Islam. We strive to correctly represent Islam as Muhammad and his Companions taught and practiced it, not just in their own time, but how Islamic authorities has since interpreted and practiced their teachings and examples.
One can only legitimately call oneself a Christian if Jesus would. Likewise, calling oneself a Muslim if Muhammad would not, is self deception. Christians and Muslims vary in their faith, understanding and practice and it must be recognised that many Muslims will disagree with the material presented in the FAQs. We are also mindful, that disagreement from Muslims does not mean that IMI is misrepresenting Islam, on the contrary, many imams and Islamic scholars are surprised with the depth of our understanding and research.
Arabic is the primary language of Islam and the majority of Muslims do not speak, read or write Arabic and are discouraged from reading non-Arabic versions of the Qur'an.
