8th December 2009

We greet all brothers and sisters in the Wonderful and Mighty Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

As we approach the end of the year, we are getting ready to celebrate God’s faithfulness, goodness, mercy and grace upon each one of us during 2009. We praise and thank the Lord Jesus Christ for all His abundant blessings, protection, provision, guidance and anointing of the Holy Spirit throughout this year. We at IMI have been greatly encouraged and blessed by all your love, generosity, prayer and moral support in the ministry of IMI.

We would like to share with you some of the highlights of what the Lord has done through the ministry work of IMI. During 2009, there were many open doors for the ministry of IMI overseas and in Australia to fulfil our vision to bring Christ to Muslims and Muslims to Christ.

In May – June 2009 our trip to a few Asian countries included a one week intensive course to a group of Spanish-speaking Christian workers in India, who were wanting to more effectively reach out to the Muslims around them. While there, we met the national director of their mission agency who requested that we conduct similar training seminars in other countries. Following the training week in Dehradun, we visited Darjeeling and Dehli, where we rested and ministered in a few churches. We had the privilege of meeting a number of key Christian leaders who are so keen to share the Gospel with Muslims but are unfortunately, rather ill-equipped to do so. They would value IMI’s resources but these need to be translated into their native languages such as Urdu, Hindi, Nepalese and Bengali. One young Indian believer who works among Muslims, travelled more than 500kms especially to meet us, it was such a privilege to share with him as one who is so devoted to the Lord. We believe that this was a divine appointment and an eye-opener for this young man and ourselves. We became aware of his need and his team’s need for training in order to obey the Great Commission— that is to share the Gospel with Muslims.

In another Asian country we conducted a two-day seminar and several sessions with smaller groups and individuals. Please pray for these believers who are in great danger for owning Christ as their Lord and Saviour – especially a well-known personality whose wife was miraculously delivered from demonic bondage by the marvellous touch of the Lord Jesus Christ, through the recitation of the Lord’s Prayer by an ordinary Christian believer. She immediately confessed Christ as her Lord & Saviour. The incident so impressed her husband who, without realising that it was the Lord’s Prayer, began reciting it over and over again. Seeing the results, he too has now become a believer. Because he is recognised everywhere, he & his family would be in jeopardy if they are seen attending any church! It is not easy for such believers in some countries to follow Jesus Christ. They need our prayers, encouragement and discipleship.

During our trip to the USA in September and October, we had great opportunities to teach and train believers for evangelism, and to preach the Word of God in various conferences, Bible colleges, churches and seminars. Our great Lord used us to impart the knowledge on Islam into many lives and to encourage believers for effective evangelism. In some home groups the Lord Jesus gave us opportunity to minister believers as well as those who have not yet fully committed their lives to Jesus Christ. We also shared the Gospel with non-believers from various walks of life such as medical, engineering, police and FBI. On some occasions we taught to separate groups of men and women.

Apart from teaching and training, we had the opportunity to minister and share the Gospel to some individuals. We were particularly honoured to be able speak to a young American man who had converted to Islam recently (having changed his name from Matt to Abdullah) and were able to share with him the danger in Islam and to draw his attention to every sinner’s greatest need for the Saviour. After about an hour’s discussion, he realised his need to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour and that Muhammad cannot save him from hell (Sura 46:9) which is the punishment all sinners must face. Praise and glory be to God Almighty. Within two days he confessed the Lord as saviour and repented of his sins. He gladly told our host lady that now his name is not Abdullah anymore but Matt. Truly God is good and gracious to all who call upon His name.

In Brisbane – we have had the privilege to disciple those of Muslim background who are Christians (‘MBC’) on a weekly basis. Also we taught a nine weeks course on “Discussing Key Issues Relating to Muslims” at International Christian College, Fortitude Valley.

New Project: This will now be a consistent honour for IMI to be a part of the group of believers who come from various countries to Australia to be instructed and taught in the ways of the Lord and in the knowledge of ministering to Muslims in their country. Please pray for the release of funds for this project and also for the removal of hindrances in obtaining visas for these candidates. These candidates will go back to their own homeland to be used by God for the expansion of His Kingdom. We are hoping to do this once or twice a year.   As Dr. Ida Glaser has said: “Any Christian who wants to know about the modern world should understand something about Islam" And it is IMI’s mission to get that information out there.

Great Opportunities for 2010:
In answer to our prayers, the Lord has opened doors for us to minister in some of the bigger churches in LA. As we shared, ministered and gave the participants foretaste of deeper issues in Islam, the main leaders of those churches and Bible Colleges have requested us to come back in 2010 to further teach and train their people for effective evangelism among Muslims and to bring wider awareness among churches about Islam.

In February / March we are booked to teach and train in African nations, April in Thailand, where we will be teaching and training Christian workers who minister among Muslims in Thailand and surrounding countries. We will be in India in July, and later in the year USA. We will be planning a teaching / training trip in Australia in 2010. Also we have planned to conduct training sessions on monthly basis on the Southside of Brisbane, which will be announced in early January with further in-depth details.

We are excited about the completion of one of our books titled ‘Share the Gospel with Muslims’ and 22 tracts, which can be used for better understanding of Islam and evangelism. Other four are in the final stages of editing and nearly ready to be published. Please pray that there will be no delay in this happening.

Do join in prayer with us for all the people who have been encouraged and equipped to evangelise, and for the opportunities opening up for us in 2010. Pray with us also for the funds required to embark on these trips and for the translation and publication for the material produced by IMI so that it can be widely available. Please continue to pray for Christians in Pakistan as the influence of fundamentalist Muslims is growing rapidly.

We are affectionately appreciative for all your prayers, moral and financial support during 2009. Without your support we could not accomplish much. We look forward to love and serve our Lord and Saviour by fulfilling His Great Commission with you all in 2010.

We pray God’s abundant blessings over you, your families, businesses and ministries in 2010. Have a blessed time at Christmas and in the New Year.

In His Service

Daniel & Mariat Scot
