Christmas Letter 2009

8th December 2009

We greet all brothers and sisters in the Wonderful and Mighty Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

As we approach the end of the year, we are getting ready to celebrate God’s faithfulness, goodness, mercy and grace upon each one of us during 2009. We praise and thank the Lord Jesus Christ for all His abundant blessings, protection, provision, guidance and anointing of the Holy Spirit throughout this year. We at IMI have been greatly encouraged and blessed by all your love, generosity, prayer and moral support in the ministry of IMI.

We would like to share with you some of the highlights of what the Lord has done through the ministry work of IMI. During 2009, there were many open doors for the ministry of IMI overseas and in Australia to fulfil our vision to bring Christ to Muslims and Muslims to Christ.

Islam is violent

Many muslims say that Islam is not violent. Dr. Zakir Naik in his short work Islam and Terrorism gives "proof" that because 14 million coptic Christians exist and not all Spain was converted to Islam, that therefore Islam is not violent.  To be sure, he gives other examples, which have the same force of logic.  Of course by this reasoning, Hitler wasn't violent becuase he didn't kill all the Jews (he even kept some alive because it suited his purposes).  But using his logic, Dr. Naik cannot argue that Christianity wants to annihilate Islam.  Christians ruled Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, etc, and Muslims are still there. "Christians" rule England, the USA etc and Muslims are there; therefore Christianity wants peace with Islam.

Question:  If Islam is peaceful, why are thousands (if not millions) of Christians being persecuted in Islamic countries, being tortured and killed?  Where are Muslims being tortured and killed in Christian countries?

Barket's Testimony

Outstanding Testimony – The effect of comparative study of the Bible and the Qur’an!

Barket Masih (Christian name) was born into an extremist Muslim family and grew up with Islamic values, which included hatred towards Christians and Christianity. His father was a religious leader in a local mosque. His parents always spoke negatively about Christians and the Bible. They taught him that the Bible has been changed and Christians will go to hell because they are bad and unclean people. They also forbade him from having friendship and fellowship with Christians and this is still a common practice among Muslim because Allah commands in the Qur’an not to befriend non-Muslims even they be close relatives (Sura 3:28; 9:23,123).

Barket’s first encounter with the Bible when he at school, secretly he enrolled himself in Correspondence Course (using a different address) without informing his parents.

Forgiveness of Sin

It's easy to be forgiven of your sin - just say 'amen'

Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 75, Hadith Number 411:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, “When the Imam says ‘Amin’, then you should all say ‘Amin’, for the angels say ‘Amin’  at that time, and he whose ‘Amin’ coincides with the ‘Amin’ of the angels, all his past sins will be forgiven.

Nice.  Sin is completely dealt with, just say 'amen', Amen?
